Gateway Robotics Challenge Hosted at Hyland Arena

FIRST Robotics recently held its Gateway Robotics Challenge at Lindenwood University’s Hyland Arena. The event took place on Sept. 28 as part of the organization’s partnership with the university. The “off-season” event is a competition among high school-level teams to compete one last time in this year’s challenge, Destination: Deep Space, before the new competition season launches in January.

FAFSA Night

Students and their families are invited to campus on Oct. 28 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. to attend FAFSA Night. Lindenwood’s Enrollment Management team will provide general information and assistance in completing financial aid documents, will provide general financial aid information, and answer questions. Light refreshments and campus tours will be provided.

Future Lion Day Set for Oct. 19

Lindenwood University will hold its Future Lion Day event for prospective students from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Oct. 19, starting at the J. Scheidegger Center for the Arts on the St. Charles campus.

Daly Receives top Ranking in Global Education Project

Professor Shelly Daly from the Plaster School of Business and Entrepreneurship received to major recognitions at the recent X-Culture International Collaboration project, a large-scale experiential learning exercise designed to provide students with an opportunity to gain first-hand experience in international virtual collaboration.

Provost Marilyn Abbott Announces June 2020 Retirement

Dr. Marilyn Abbott, provost and vice president for academic affairs, has announced she will retire from Lindenwood University in July of 2020, concluding a 22-year career with the university.

Lindenwood Hosts Sixth Annual GIS Day

Lindenwood University hosted its sixth annual GIS day Tuesday, Oct. 1, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Anheuser-Busch Leadership Room at the Spellmann Center. GIS Day, a national event, provided an opportunity to showcase the varied applications of Geographic Information Systems right here in the St. Louis region.

Students Present Research at Midwest Regional Neuroscience Conference

The week of Sept. 21, four Lindenwood students attended and presented their work at the annual Midwest Regional Neuroscience (or Midbrains) Conference at Augustana College in Rock Island, Ill.

Adjunct McClain to Appear on Dateline NBC Episode on Hupp Case

Lindenwood University Adjunct Instructor Lawrence McClain, who teaches cybercrime in Lindenwood University’s Criminal Justice program, will appear as an interviewee on Dateline NBC in an episode devoted to a high-profile 2016 murder case involving a woman named Pamela Hupp. The episode will air in St. Louis at 8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 27, on KSDK channel 5.
